I want to thank everyone who posted in the previous journal on their views about DA standards, sexuality, etc. It was...IS an eye opener, and I'm glad that it drew the attention it did.
Change is brought about by people talking. Without communicating, there isn't the necessary feedback that helps shape what we want changed and the definition of some gray areas that don't get much of a spotlight.
I commend those of you that posted, for being genuine about the viewpoints you hold. Regardless if we were in agreement or not, it's a rare quality on the internet where we're prone to either drama or apathy.
In other news, deadlines are blasting me into kingdom come, and I am so very thankful to be on the projects I am. I am exhausted, but I've had SO much fun, and I've learned so much working with some really fantastic folks.
I'll talk about my work later. After finishing the rough pencils for three comic pages, I'm pretty bushed.
It's been an insanely long week, and I look forward to taking a break next week, seeing friends, and finally walking down the scholarly aisle and picking up my Bachelor's degree on the 12th.

Not all who wander are lost...
Oh when commission times come, I get people saying that they could get commissions for up to 75% less from other artists with the same quality... It stings sometimes, but I cannot drop my prices to match other artists. Those artists also aren't working professionals, they're trying to start out.
Undercutting other people isn't cool. I've actually talked about when it boils down to it, commissions often pay less than minimum wage. I've had, and I do have one still, commission that's actually lost me a LOT of money because A. I didn't have guidelines on revisions when I took it and B. The amount of revisions done on the piece outweigh the actual cost.
Maybe I'll bring up fair wages for artists in another post.

Then I reckon the lucky guy has got your goat.
Sorry. That was ba-a-a-a-ad.

I wouldn't even know what it'd be like to actually being paid for a commission. Last year, I kept getting fools who would want a commission, then they refused to pay because they were not expecting my style to be so cartoony. They would say, "I didn't know you drew like that!" I say that the next time someone looks at my gallery, they try doing it with their eyes. Honestly, these deadbeats and morons who lack any taste pretty much kill my motivation.
